CHUAN PHILOSOPHY

In Chinese, “Chuan” means flowing water. It is seen as the source of life and balance, helping to renew, restore and rejuvenate.

Chuan Spa takes a holistic approach to wellness. We embrace the centuries-old healing philosophies of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). And our TCM-integrated treatments are based on the principles of Wu Xing, or the Five Elements — Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water.

With a blend of modern comforts, ancient therapeutic practices and flawless hospitality, Chuan Spa is the perfect place to restore divine balance in a fast-paced world.

OUR DESIGN

Designed to promote contemplation and discovery, Chuan's Feng Shui-inspired interiors gently nurture your Jing (life force), Qi (vital energy) and Shen (mind and spirit).

Like an ancient Chinese garden, guests are welcomed by water streams, inspiring artworks, and fragrant aromas. A calming ambience, made to realign one's Yin and Yang, and restore an inner balance.

FINDING HARMONY WITH FIVE ELEMENTS

Chuan treatments are guided by the Five Elements. After finding one’s element, our expert consultants will design a personalised wellness journey to restore balance.

It consists of your specific element massage oil, a post-treatment element tea, and techniques that focus on the acupressure points along the body’s meridian system.

TCM EXPERTISE AND EXCELLENCE

Chuan partners with TCM experts who offer consultations and specialist therapies.

Focusing on energy flow, basic elemental forces, and the influence of hot and cold, our consultants will suggest treatments that best meet the needs of each guest. This way, you can achieve a balance between your body’s distinct elements.

CHUAN EXPERIENCE

Embark on a three-step journey to wellness. Begin with a consultation with our expert therapist, and end with a relaxing post-treatment session.

STEP ONE

FIND YOUR ELEMENT

Enjoy a glass of tea as you consult our expert therapist. Complete the Five Elements questionnaire, which will determine the best path to rebalancing your five elements and personal Yin and Yang. Our therapist will then prepare your elemental essential oil for your treatment.

STEP THREE

RELAX IN A STATE OF BLISS

Towards the end of your wellness journey, rest easy in our relaxation room. Enjoy post-treatment delights, including element tea and refreshing snacks.

THE FIVE ELEMENTS

Chaun Spa treatments and products are guided by the Five Elements theory. This questionnaire will assist you in identifying basic disharmonies amongst the five elements. Together with sensory testing, it will then direct you to the most suitable Chuan product for your treatment.
